PCTI and Herefordshire Hospital Trust (HHT) have been shortlisted for the Healthcare IT award at the Health Business Awards 2010.
The Health Business Awards are an annual event taking place on Thursday, 9th December, to celebrate the excellence in the health care sector. The award recognises the project by NHS Herefordshire to deliver electronically hospital discharge summaries and reports to GP’s quickly and accurately. The key objectives were to deliver electronic discharge messaging and to deliver electronic radiology report messaging direct to GP practices.
The solution utilises PCTI’s EDT Server to capture documents from Secondary Care systems and distribute them to any GP practice. By sending documents electronically, HHT can not only meet delivery targets like the 24 hour discharge summary, but they can also make significant savings by removing printing and postage costs.
EDT at the GP practice is able to collect from multiple message streams enabling them to receive from multiple document sources in the same Trust or from neighbouring Trusts. A full audit trail supports the messages enabling the sender to know when a message has been successfully delivered and acknowledged. If the practice has Docman, they automatically receive all electronic documents directly into their document management system saving time and improving data quality.
Managing Director, Ric Thompson, “We are delighted that HHT has been shortlisted for such a prestigious award in the health care sector. It is fantastic to see that the great efforts off all have been recognised and that our solution is having such a positive impact.”
