PCTI Solutions, the supplier of EDT Hub, the innovative document transfer solution is pleased to have achieved accreditation for Connecting for Health’s Interoperability Toolkit Release 2.
Following successful accreditation to Release 1 in December 2010, EDT Hub is now accredited for Release 2 (Discharge and Non-Coded CDA) which supports more complex scenarios and infrastructure.
The Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) is a set of national standards, frameworks and implementation guides to support interoperability within local organisations and across local health communities. A key focus of ITK R2 has been to lay the groundwork for clinical document exchange. This has included specifying a set of generic services for document transmission – including the ability to carry attachments.
Ric Thompson, Managing Director, PCTI “EDT Hub is a key driver for many Trusts to meet the 24 hour discharge target, creating real benefits for organisations, professionals and patients. Organisations are now not only sending discharge summaries electronically but have widened the use of EDT Hub to transfer all clinical documents in this way. Organisations are sending documents such as A&E letters, Outpatient clinical letters , non-urgent care 111 messages and GP generated documents.
“PCTI’s EDT Hub is now being used by over 70 NHS Organisations to deliver patient letters electronically to GP practices. Those practices that use Docman can enjoy seamless integration with documents being delivered to the heart of their workflow. For practices not using Docman then a free of charge ‘1 click install’ collection folder can be used for electronic document receipt.”
